Sea kayaks are a great way to explore Kachemak Bay, and Mako's offers single and double kayaks for daily, multi-day, or weekly rentals. Each rental includes your kayak, paddle, pump, sponge, and spray skirt — everything you need to get on the water.

Kayaks offer a unique, up-close way to experience the beautiful coves, channels, bays, and fjords of Kachemak Bay. Glide quietly over swaying eel grass and kelp beds, watch sea stars and anemones pass beneath your boat, paddle up to ancient cliffs with cascading waterfalls, or find a quiet beach to build a fire and break out a lunch.

We'll help you plan a day outing or an extended kayak/camping adventure based on your skill level, get you across the bay to your starting point, and pick you up when you're done.

For experienced sea kayakers, Kachemak Bay offers world-class paddling. For routes, maps, and trip planning resources, visit the Kachemak Bay Water Trail.

Important: Sea kayaking carries inherent risks. Weather can be unpredictable, and Kachemak Bay has strong tides and currents. All customers assume risk when renting kayaks. We're happy to help you plan an itinerary suited to your skill level.
