Gull Island
Gull Island is the summer home to thousands of sea birds. In fact, it is a rookery and come July the population almost doubles with hatching chicks. There are 8 different species that nest here: Black-legged Kittiwakes, Pelagic Cormorants, Red Faced Cormorants (a bird watcher’s favorite), Glaucous-winged Gulls, Pigeon Guillemots, Common Murres, and the ever popular Puffin-- both Tufted and Horned. This is a very popular destination, but you can’t get off the boat. We will cruise around this Island so close you can feel (and smell!) the life force. Bring a camera and a hat.
